Ans. In 3000 years of India's history, people from all over the ner. From Alexander onwards, many nations have invaded our country. They included he Greeks, the Turks, the Moguls, the Portuguese, the British, the French and the Dutch. They all came and looted us. They took over what was ours. 

Q. When, according to Kalam, did India get its first vision of freedom? 

Ans. According to Kalam, India got its first vision of freedom in 1857 when the war of dependence was started. 'The British had ruled India for a long period. But now Indian people wanted to get rid of their slavery They wanted to free their land from the clutches of the British rule.

Ans. Kalam is second vision for India is development. He wants India to be a developed nation. He says that we are among the 5 top nations of the world in terms of GDP. We have 10 per cent growth rate in most areas. Our achievements are being globally recognized. Yet we dont see ourselves as a developed nation. It is because we lack self-confidence.

In countries like America and Japan, every dog owner has to clean the droppings of his pet. "Will the Indian citizens do. that here ?" he asked.

Ans. We show great concern about burning social issues. Women, dowry, girl child, etc. are hot subjects for us. We make a show of loud protests in public. But in our own home, we do the reverse. Then we say that the whole system has to be changed.

Kalam lam means to say that in a foreign country, we are at our international best.

Ans. The idea conveyed in this lesson is thatt we lndians are very strange people. We are full of praise for everything that is foreign. We are full of contempt for everything that is Indian. In a foreign country, we behave like a law-abiding citizen. But in our own country We hardly ever care for any law. We blame the government for all ills. We find fault with the 1aw, We say that the system is rotten. But we easily forget that we are also a part of the system. We go to the polls and choose a government. Then we sit back comfortably and pect the government to do everything for us. But we ourselves never fulfil our duties to the nation.

Ans. Social Responsibility' means our responsibility as individuals towards the society in which we live. To maintain the peace and order in the society is not only our duty, but our responsibility also. So we should be law-abiding and disciplined. We should never do anything that is unlawful and unworthy. We shouldn't blame the government or the system for all the ills. Rather we should perform our duties towards the system because we are also a part of the system. We should be true patriots and noble sons of our motherland.
