Ans. Havildar Abdul Hamid was posted in Khem Karan Sector, Bhikhiwind in Punjab at that time. On 10 September, 1965, Pakistani forces attacked near village Cheema in Khem Karan Sector with a regiment of Patton tanks. There was intense artillery shelling and tank fire everywhere. Realising the seriousness of the situation, Hamid moved out with his gun mounted on a jeep and started firing on the enemy tanks. He destroyed two enemy tanks. When the enemy tanks spotted Abdul Hamid, they started firing at him. He was badly wounded by a highly explosiveshel. But he continued firing on another enemy tank till he died. 

Q. How did Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon defend the Srinagar Airbase 1971? 

Ans. On 14 December, 1971, six Pakistan Air Force F-86 jets attacked Srinagar A ground targets. Under heavy fire, Sekhon somehow was able to take off in his Gnat and with the Sabres. He scored a direct hiton one Sabre and set another ablaze. After a d dog-fight with the remaining four Sabres, his aircraft was hit and he was killed. The ema Pakistani aircraft returned to Pakistan without pressing the attack.

Ans. During the Kargil War in 1999, Captain Vikram Batra was given the task of recapturing Point 5140. Captain Vikram decided to lead from the rear and thus shock the enemy. But when he andh ismen reached near the top,theenemy started firing at them. But they didnt bother the heavy firing. They hurled rwo grenades at the machine-gun post. Captain Vikram alone killed three enemy soldiers in close combat. Though he was seriously injured, he insisted on continuing the mission. Inspired by his courage, his men charged the enemy position and recaptured point 5140. And thus Point 4700, Point 5100, Junction Peak, Three Pimples, Point 4750 and Point 4875 were also captured afterwards. Captain Vikram Batra was killed while recapturing Point 4875.
